Natalie "Tilie" O'Neil

Natalie "Tilie" O'Neil (she/hers) grew up in Northern California dancing any second she could. Her training includes Chico Community Ballet and North State Ballet under the artistic direction of Heather Wysong and Laurel Tennant. She trained in styles such as ballet, contemporary, and jazz, as well as Pilates and theatrical fencing. In tandem with her training at North State Ballet, she attended Inspire School of Arts and Sciences where she majored in dance. Here she trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, tap, hip-hop, musical theater, and more. She also had opportunities to choreograph and teach her peers, facilitated by dance instructors Sarah Shoemaker and Jarrah Myles. Since then Tilie has been working towards a degree in nursing at Butte College and eventually moved to Washington state to further her education. Tilie started taking the Adult Ballet class at Opus Performing Arts and fell in love with the positive and encouraging environment.
As a teacher, Tilie wants to inspire dancers to create with self-confidence and kindness for themselves and others. Tilie strives to create a space where dancers can explore all that they are capable of and more. She hopes that in her class dancers continue to love to dance and learn!
