Opus Nutcracker 2022

We are thrilled to be producing 4 performances of The Nutcracker at Mount Baker Theatre December 14-17 at 7:00pm!
Step into the Stahlbaum family's home and watch as Clara's world transforms before your eyes into a magical wonderland of toy soldiers, a blizzard of snowflakes, a flock of marshmallow sheep, and many other delightful surprises! From the dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to audience favorite Mother Ginger & Her Gingersnaps, this classical ballet with a unique theatrical twist continues to captivate Bellingham audiences year after year. Set to Tchaikovsky’s magical score, this celebrated story comes to life with beloved characters, intricate hand-made costumes, and over 120 dancers from the ballet school of Opus Performing Arts. The Nutcracker includes Opus’ youngest ballet students as cupcakes, peppermints, and other denizens of the Kingdom of Sweets, as well as their advanced dancers in the iconic roles of Nutcracker, Snow Queen, Peacock, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. Gather your friends and family and embark on a journey where bravery and imagination save the day.
The Nutcracker mesmerizes audiences of all ages every year, and this season's presentation includes new surprises in addition to audiences' favorite moments. The final two performances of Opus’ Nutcracker will be available for live-streaming at home, so that folks far and wide can watch alongside our in-theatre audience.
